Connection with
Ancestral Medicine
A guided journey with recognized Shaman Max Mello from Brazil. Seven days and six nights at Ozen Retreat Center, Cancún, México.
Hosted by
Sol da Manhã
Potencial Humano OnceSol da Manhã and Potencial Humano Once invite you to seven days of ancestral medicine held in the Mayan jungle. This is a journey of alignment: slowing the body, quieting the mind, and returning to the natural cycles that we all belong to.
The work is carried in the traditional way: ceremony, song, fire, water, and silence, guided by people who have spent decades in relationship with these medicines and with the land. Days are unhurried, meals are simple and nourishing, and there is room for rest between each ceremony.
The group is kept intentionally small so that every person is accompanied. You are received as you are, with whatever you bring, and given the time and care that a journey like this asks for.

What is included
Everything the seven days hold
- 3 ancestral ayahuasca ceremonies
- 2 temazcal (traditional Mayan sweat lodge) ceremonies
- A cacao ceremony
- Guided neuroplasticity integration processes to anchor the experience
- Breathwork sessions
Accommodation in the retreat studios, all meals prepared to the ceremonial diet, and full facilitation throughout the week are included. Flights and airport transfers are arranged separately.
Reserve Your SpotThe location
Ozen Retreat Center, Cancún, México
Ozen is an 18.3-hectare jungle property built around a sacred cenote. The Cenote Sagrado, roughly thirty meters across and some 460 m² of open water, sits at the heart of the land, fed by the underground rivers of the Yucatán and treated by the Mayan people as a doorway between worlds.
The grounds are quiet. Limestone paths lead between ceremony spaces and gardens, and the jungle is left largely as it is. Mornings begin with birdsong; nights are dark enough to see the stars.
Ceremony and wellness spaces are dedicated and distinct: the White Lotus hall (202 m²) for circle work, the open-air Buddha Hall (676 m²) for meditation and integration, the Full Moon Palapa (218 m²) for night ceremony, a temazcal for the sweat lodge, and the winding Zorba Zing pool for rest between sessions.
Accommodation is in simple studios and cottages set among the trees: Cube, Cone, and Hive units, along with Star Cottages, with space for stillness and for the long, unstructured hours that integration asks for.

Itinerary snapshot
Seven days, six nights
A shape for the week, not a fixed schedule. Ceremony nights are set closer to the dates, once the full group has gathered.
Day 1
Arrival
Arrive at Ozen and settle into your studio. In the evening, the group gathers for an opening circle: introductions, an orientation to the days ahead, and a first cacao to soften into the space together.
Days 2–6
Ceremonies & Integration
Each day holds a rhythm: morning practice, rest and nourishing meals, and evenings built around ceremony. Across the week you'll sit in three ayahuasca ceremonies and two temazcal, guided by Max and Suzzane, with integration the following morning to help you carry what comes up. The exact order of ceremony nights is set closer to arrival, based on the group and the moon.
Day 7
Departure
A closing circle in the morning, a shared breakfast, and transfers back toward Cancún. You leave with time built in, not rushed straight from ceremony to the airport.
Facilitators
Max Mello and Suzzane Flores

Max Mello
Founder and president of the Sol da Manhã Spiritual Center, and a father who has cultivated the path of ancestral healing since childhood. In his youth he went on pilgrimages, learning with wise healers and tribes around the world, and today he dedicates himself to the cultivation of land and ancient spiritual wisdom.
He is a musician, farmer, bio-constructionist, and spiritual leader who has spent more than twenty years performing ceremonies and sharing his knowledge, enabling the awakening of consciousness. His singing transmits, in a simple way, the wisdom that connects us with the joy of gratitude for life.
Suzzane Flores
Married to Max Mello, Suzzane was born and raised on Mapuche ancestral lands in southern Chile. She has lived in Brazil for more than fourteen years with her husband and their children. She is the guardian and co-founder of the Sol da Manhã Spiritual Center, and dedicates her life to the study of natural medicines, self-knowledge through the relationship with nature, community life, and the development of human potential in harmony with the earth.
Years ago, after giving birth to her second daughter at home, she began studying to provide perinatal support to pregnant women and their families, and today dedicates herself to the path of traditional midwifery.

Most common questions
Before you come
- How do guests get to and from the retreat center?
- Fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN). We arrange a group transfer from the airport to Ozen on arrival day, and back again on departure day. The exact pickup window is sent to you before the retreat, once flights are confirmed.
- What should I bring and how do I prepare?
- Light, comfortable clothing for warm days and ceremony, a swimsuit for the cenote and pool, a journal, and closed shoes for walking the jungle grounds. A full preparation guide, including dietary and lifestyle recommendations for the weeks before ceremony, is sent to every guest after registration.
- Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
- Yes. Meals are prepared fresh on-site to support the ceremonial diet, and the kitchen accommodates common restrictions and allergies. Let us know when you register and we'll confirm directly with you.
- Are the ayahuasca ceremonies safe?
- Every ceremony is held by Max Mello, who has led this work for over two decades, alongside Suzzane Flores. Safety starts before you register: every guest books a free discovery call, where we walk you through exactly what the week involves, ask about any medications you're taking, and check in on anything difficult you've been carrying lately, like loss, trauma, or a big life transition. It's a two-way conversation: you get your questions answered, and our team confirms this retreat is genuinely the right fit before you're approved to join.
